Unobstructed
An invitation to awe in a noisy world
This morning, as I lifted my eyes toward the early sky, I was reminded again of the One who placed each and every star there. It struck me how rarely I pause long enough to notice what is truly bigger than myself, and how gratitude often begins with that kind of noticing.
From where I live, I have a small corner of paradise where the stars shine without obstruction. No neon glow or city haze hides their brilliance. In those moments—especially just before dawn—the stillness is profound. The sky becomes a reminder that even in the midst of life’s constant noise, there are places of clarity if we’re willing to look for them.
The truth is, our days fill up fast. We move from one task to the next, and before we know it, we’ve missed the invitation to simply pause. To breathe. To look up. Moments away from distraction become moments toward awe.
And so I wonder: what would shift if we intentionally sought out our own slice of paradise, however small, where the noise cannot reach us? What might change in us if we took those few minutes—before the world wakes fully—to be still, to remember, and to be amazed?
May we find those spaces. May we honor them. And may we pause, often, to look up and stand in awe.
